Sustainable Parasite Management
Dung beetles for Africa
"The farmers little helper"

Vryburg Agriculture Show 2009
The Vryburg Agriculture show is South Africa's third largest agricultural show and the largest cattle show in Africa. Vryburg is situated halfway between Kimberley and Mafikeng in the North-West Province and this year’s annual show was held from the 29th of April to the 1st of May. Vryburg is South Africa's largest beef producing district, with Hereford cattle being the most popular and is sometimes refered to as "the Texas of South Africa". Today, Vryburg is the industrial and agricultural heartland of the Bophirima region and the area supports a large number of game and cattle farms.
As an ongoing part of our campaign to create awareness about the importance of dung beetles in sustainable parasite management, The Scarab Research Group exhibited at the show this year. Our main objective was to distribute information concerning our research as well as creating awareness about our trademark “Dung Beetle Friendliness”. We had a wonderful time getting to know the people of Vryburg who welcomed us with open arms. The general trend was a positive one and once again we found that the general public wanted to know more about dung beetles and our trademark.
Hope to see you at the Vryburg Agriculture Show 2010!
